Excellent work Laust. I"ve been waiting for this list, to see what you consider a design flaw, since you"re an engineer. I wonder if you would consider renaming some of these from "design flaw" to "state of the art for the time -- modern improvements are available."For example, Bronze valve seats may be "too soft" today - - but for the time I believe there must have been a good reason for them.ie: Lamborghini was not designing for durability, but for high performance.Tho they are soft (and I wish my 400gt had the modern hardened version) they were only changed to hardened when lead was taken out of gasoline, when was that...?Late 70s?I can"t remember. Also, I"m surprised you didn"t mention the brakes, as there are numerous complaints in the Estes papers (maybe it was the Espada SI -- I"ll find them and post). So the Espada must have changed from SI to SIII.And I would assume there would be a different list for each one.So maybe you should rush out and buy 2 more and begin your tests again.;^D Anyway, excellent list!Maybe you"ve inspired me (and Jack) to put together a list for the 400gt.(Tho off the top of my head I can"t think of anything wrong with that magnificent automobile.) hahahahahaha -- happy new year!
