The boosters were/are the original Lockheed units. I can"t blame the shop; I know that these units are troublesome, and I compounded the problem by letting my car sit for about 2 years (everything else came out of hibernation fine). The fronts are working, but just not enough, and it"s the type of situation that a non-gearhead wouldn"t even notice. Rear wheels getting dirty faster than the fronts - that was my original clue! Until I learn more, I"ll look at the bright side: I can set up a sideways drift far easier now when I "bake" into a turn! ;-) Noah Mackenroth ----- Original Message ----- From: docmirror To: VintageLambo@yahoogroups.com Sent: Sunday, December 07, 2003 8:34 PM Subject: [VintageLambo] Re: Front/Rear Brake Proportioning Ya know, I just reread the previous post, and found you"ve had your brakes worked on by a previous shop. What"s up with that? Can"t you take it back there and have them sort it out properely? This isn"t a complicated system, it should be easy to fix if kept clean. Oh well, if you have new servos, I would still look at them, cause I don"t know where they came from. From there, the lines run through the "imbalance sensor", which I mistook for a proportioning device, that is a squashed "H" shaped device laying underneath my fluid reservoirs atop the wheel well. From there they diverge to the four corners. > > I don"t remember a pull to one side, so I"ll take a close look at that front booster/servo unit. I"ll probably start with a good fluid flush (it"s been two years - sorry), and then isolate (partially) the front unit by plugging up the vacuum feed to the rear one, and possibly going for a careful test drive. > > Note that both boosters and servos are less than six years old!
