Body of Message

Hi Charles, It"s not all that bad. Now that I have done one side, I expect the other side to take a lot less time. It took me about four hours to remove all the parts off the car, including the brake caliper assembly, the lower wishbone, the upper A-arm, the trailing link, and the half shaft. (Actually, you only remove the outer end of the half shaft because you can unscrew the collar and pull the splined end clear of the inner tube). George Bullwinkel posted a message back on 11 Febuary, 2003 (check the message archives) that provides a great procedure for removing the pivot bolt. That is one of the tougher tasks. The other hard part is getting at some of the nuts/bolts that secure the bushing ends of the various suspension components. If you are thinking about working on the suspension, contact me off-list or call me at 619-669-3838 and I will give you some additional info. I spent the better part of yesterday pulling the rear passenger side suspension off my car. I had forgotten what a job that is. I am replacing all the old bushings, rebuilding the brakes (done), etc. This time I am taking notes and photos and will probably do a short writeup for posting on VLG. Jack, roughly how long to pull the supension out? Charles . .
