The magnesium alloy of the wheels t needs covering or they will swiftly corrode away, even if you keep the p..... dogs away ! I believe there was some post about this earlier, both the wheel protection and the dogs ! ----- Original Message ----- From: docmirror To: VintageLambo@yahoogroups.com Sent: Sunday, November 16, 2003 2:52 AM Subject: [VintageLambo] Re: Colour/ paint code: Wheels Forgot to mention the wheels. I think they were unpainted raw metal from the factory. I recently had mine blasted with glass beads for a satin silver/gray finish, still plenty pitted. Then I coated them with several very light coats of Eurethane Clear with a hardener additive. I was going to paint them with a gold metalic first, but the rest of the trim on the Espada is silver, chrome, or black, so I stuck with natural. One other tip, if you do have them blasted with beads, don"t touch them after they are blasted. Just wipe with a lint free cloth with a little Laquer thinner, and then spray. Mine look good now but will need redo in a few years. It also is an easier surface to clean brake dust off of as it"s fairly slippery.
