RE: [VintageLambo] Re: Espada Master Cylinder

Body of Message

Bill"s right; the clutch is easier because it"s slung from two pass-through bolts from above that are pretty easy to get to even with the dash top in place and the low- and high-pressure fittings are right at the end (I brass lined mine last year and did the removal the same way). It"s the brake master that is the big hairy headache. Giles, when you get to that point, check out the diagram of the brake master in the files area of the VintageLambo site. It"s important to put the sliding assembly back together in the correct order and with the screw-in pin on the low-pressure fitting in the right position...or she donna" work so good. I only had to remove a small section of the dash to gain acess to the assembly. No proplem except getting brake fluid on a portion of the dash which I had to refinish. Maybe I should have drained all the fluid prior?? Removal was from the inside of the car, as I recall, except for disconnecting the shaft in the pedal box. MAKE SURE you don"t cross thread the fittings when putting in the new cylinder(s). Not very hard to have this happen so just be careful! Not a bad job! Does it, as I suspect, involve removing the dash, or do they come out into the engine bay through the pedal box aperture ?
